2018 Dodge Durango Owners Manual – The Dodge Durango is a crossover since it is a unibody, so it is not designed with the body bolted on the frame like the far more durable pickup truck-dependent SUVs. Durango acts like a crossover, with very nice road manners, like a car.
It doesn’t appear to be a crossover, however, plus some of its capabilities appear like those of a pickup truck-dependent SUV. It is attractive, not too gentle, nice and clean but durable as the SUV it used to become. It might pull as much as 7400 weight. That’s a lot of levels of competition in the type, and the Durango is obtaining a little long in the tooth; the 2018 model is the eighth year of its era, although we have seen countless changes and upgrades together with the way. And there’s a bunch far more for 2018, changes to equipment and toned, but no redesign, unless you count the breathtaking new SRT model.
Like the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT before it, the Durango bolts in Chrysler’s big 392 cubic-inch V8 making 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft . of torque. It is all-wheel-drive only, using a beefed-up model of the 8-speed intelligent that’s in all Durangos. It is wonderful quickly. The base engine is Chrysler’s robust 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 generating 290 or 295 horsepower with 260 pound-toes of torque. The bigger engine is a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 generating 360 hp and 390 lb-ft. Both engines work with an 8-speed intelligent transmission. The V6 can tow a school-leading 6200 weight; the Hemi V8 can pull a course-major 7400 pounds. It’s high in volume.
